2. Bottom Waterfall Tumpak Sewu
As its name, this spot is right beneath Tumpak Sewu Waterfall. Getting here isn’t too hard, but it requires attention to your physical fitness, safety gear, and mental readiness. To reach this point, you’ll walk about 600 meters down stairs from Tumpak Sewu Panorama. In total, it’s about a 1 km journey from the main ticket office: 400 meters to the panorama and then descending 600 meters down stairs.
Here are some important considerations before heading down the stairs or visiting the Bottom Waterfall:
- Wear sturdy, non-slip rubber shoes, as the path involves descending stairs and some areas with flowing water. Forgot your shoes? You can rent rubber boots near the Tumpak Sewu ticket office for IDR 10,000 – IDR 20,000
- Those with asthma should avoid descending to the Bottom Waterfall.
- Those have fear of heights also should avoid descending to the Bottom Waterfall.
- Children under 10 and adults over 60, or those not physically fit, should also avoid the descent.

There’s an additional entrance fee of IDR 10,000 per person at the ticket office, covering access to the nirvana cliffs and the Blue Lake.
4. Telaga Biru or Blue Lake
This spot is right next to the Nirvana Cliffs and left us amazed during our Tumpak Sewu exploration. It’s not just a regular pond — the Blue Lake is incredibly unique. Its clear blue water is mesmerizing, almost like blue fire when calm and serene.
The Blue Lake captivated us with its natural beauty, unlike any other lake or pond we’ve seen before. The water here is so clear and blue that it leaves you speechless.
Here, you can see truly unique natural phenomena. The water splashing from this lake has a color like the blue of fire. Then, it will appear as usual when the water is still. We had a great time playing in the water here.
You can relax and swim in the cool mountain mineral water, surrounded by the refreshing mountain air that’s hard to find elsewhere.
5. Tetes Cave
Besides the 4 stunning places mentioned above, there’s another special spot, Tetes Cave Tumpak Sewu. You don’t need to worry about finding your way here safely and comfortably. To get to this place, you can climb several stairs and cliffs that have been provided by the tourism manager there. To enter the Tetes Cave area, there’s an additional entrance fee of IDR 10,000
Goa Tetes Tumpak Sewu is a cave lined with stalactite rocks and has a pool of cool mountain spring water inside. From the top of Tetes Cave, you can see the beauty of Tumpak Sewu Lumajang’s natural scenery from the hill, which is quite rare for a tourist spot to have such a complete attractions.
